BABA-GANA ADAM

Dr. Baba-Gana Adam is a seasoned public servant with extensive experience that spans a wide range of domains in public service. With over three decades of commitment to making a difference in Logistics Planning, Research & Statistics, Project Monitoring & Evaluation, Outdoor Advertisement & Signage, and City Management, Dr. Adam has distinguished himself in setting a pace and achieving organizational objectives.
A recipient of various honours and awards, including special recognition for his invaluable contribution to urban renewal and beautification at the 2021 Housing Summit and Outstanding Leadership Award twice by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Dr. Adam’s career trajectory began in 1991, as an Officer in service of Borno State Government, where he demonstrated his capability across various Ministries.
Since transferring his service to the FCTA in 2002, and first cutting his teeth at Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), and then Parks and Recreation Department in 2004, Dr. Adam has participated in various tasks to optimize assigned functions. He served as the Head of Logistics Planning Research & Statistics, where he was saddled with the responsibility of Project Monitoring & Evaluation in the Economic Planning Research & Statistics. He was the immediate past record setting Director of the Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage, with an added responsibility to coordinate and oversee the one-stop-shop vetting and permit processing of Masts & Towers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Dr. Adam has been a front-line social advocate and committed to national causes and programmes to promote access to public social amenities and services. He was also the Chair of Stop TB Partnership Nigeria 2012 – 2013 and National Coordinator, Civil Society for the Eradication of Tuberculosis in Nigeria (The TBNETWORK Nigeria).
Born in Maiduguri, Borno State, Dr. Adam had his early education at Yerwa Central Primary School and Federal Government College, Maiduguri. He acquired his tertiary education at the School of Basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and the University of Maiduguri, between 1986 and 1994.
Dr. Adam enjoys reading and plays Handball at his leisure. He speaks English, Kanuri, Fulfulde, and Hausa. A member of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and Certified Maintenance Management Manager, he is married and has children.
